“…When day comes we step out of the shade,―Amanda Gorman
aflame and unafraid
The new dawn blooms as we free it
For there is always light,
if only we’re brave enough to see it
If only we’re brave enough to be it”
Excerpt from “The Hill We Climb”
I am inspired.
I heard the words above so eloquently spoken by a young poet named Amanda Gorman and I was moved. I felt my heart breaking open after not realizing that there had been a growing ache in my very center as I, like you, weathered the growing sentiments of hate and divide and death in our country over the last several years. I felt my heart finally start to feel a little easier, a little more hopeful, and tears fell down my cheeks as I listened to this beautiful poem.
And then, I felt inspired.
Inspired hearing the words – WE STEP OUT OF THE SHADE AFLAME AND UNAFRAID. This hit home, not just for me and what I have been dealing with during COVID isolation and beyond, but it made me think of you, my friend. It made me think of all of the others who have been dealing with REALLY HARD TIMES and are SURVIVING.
Are you ready to step into the light as the NEW DAWN BLOOMS?
Find that strength inside of you.
It comes from your very center and glows like a beautiful golden light. FOR THERE IS ALWAYS LIGHT. Your light. My light. We have this light within us.
BREATHE in your own strength. BREATHE out and share your steady, calm power.
IF ONLY WE ARE BRAVE ENOUGH TO SEE IT. IF ONLY WE ARE BRAVE ENOUGH TO BE IT. Oh yes. You are brave. Walking through each day, each minute, each moment, you are brave. Surviving until this moment, you are brave. Now, allow that beautiful light to shine from within you, you brave soul. Now, bravely see the light. Now, bravely be the light.
I am shining my light out to you. To inspire you to shine your own light, to feel your own power, and step into everything that is your beautiful self.
Now, what will your beautiful, brave self do today? How will you move forward with love, compassion, and gratitude for yourself and others? I can’t wait to see what you do with your light.
