I’m so happy to be sending you this message on Thanksgiving.
It’s a day that I am reminded that I am grateful for my gratitude practice. I practice gratitude daily and it helps me to see the brighter side rather than getting weighed down by negativity. Don’t get me wrong, the shadow side is necessary, but it is not where I want to live in every moment. And I’m definitely grateful for all of the lessons brought to me by the darkness.
I am grateful for you, my beautiful community. Being able to communicate with you each week brings me happiness. Knowing that I am sharing healing knowledge, movement and mindfulness to help nourish your body and soul makes my heart shine.
I am especially grateful for life on this day. I am so fortunate to be staying at my parent’s home in Tucson and spending time with them. My mom is on year six of a Stage 4 breast cancer diagnosis where she was expected to live for five years if she was lucky. So, yes, I am grateful for life.
I am grateful to have my son with me and see the glee he feels at being surrounded by the love and playfulness of his grandparents.
I am grateful that I have been able to peel back the layers of my own trauma and have allowed myself to truly feel joy as I embrace my own freedom.
I have been celebrating by dancing.
Yesterday, I danced the samba with my mom. Today, I danced around the living room with my son. Joy! Fun! Laughter!
I have received so much kindness and encouragement from my family, friends, and community. I see this kindness as I lean into trusting myself and my path and am immensely grateful.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This moment is beautiful.
May you have peace within,
Julia
