“When you take time to replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve others from the overflow. You cannot serve from an empty vessel.”
– Eleanor Brown
I see autumn in full swing all around me. The air is cooler. The leaves are falling from the trees (even in LA).
That the hustle and bustle of November to December is coming.
As the weather gets cooler, I tend to want to snuggle in and get cozy, but there is no hibernating… Instead, it is a season of getting busy.
Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa, Festivus, New Year’s. Celebrating, eating, cooking, traveling, volunteering.
I bring this up, not to overwhelm you with the coming season, but instead to make sure you don’t get overwhelmed.
As your fall/winter plans start to ramp up, make sure to take some time for yourself.
Make a plan for yourself. Plan something kind for yourself at least once a week.
What do you like to do? Make it special for yourself. It doesn’t have to be expensive or elaborate, just a little time you make for yourself, doing what you like to do. Take a walk, have a cup of tea where you just sit and drink it, read a book, take a nap… what is special for you?
Allow yourself to put down your to-do list and silence your phone.
So, this is your little reminder not to let yourself get lost in the hustle and bustle this fall and winter. Make sure you take time for the most special person this fall… yourself.
May you have peace within,
Julia
