I had to get ready for an important meeting today. I needed to get myself in a great frame of mind – positive and ready for what may come. I practiced yoga and meditated, but then I had a little time before the meeting, and so I decided to play a little music to keep my mood lifted.
It worked. I felt so joyful and motivated that I ended up really enjoying the meeting.
“Scientific research has shown that music can influence physiological processes that enhance physical and mental wellbeing.” writes researcher Lavinia Rebecchini in her article “Music, mental health, and immunity” published in the journal Brain, behavior, & immunity – health in 2021.
According to VeryWellMind, music may:
- Improve Cognitive Performance
- Reduce Stress
- Improve Your Memory
- Help Manage Pain
- Help You Sleep Better
- Improve Motivation
- Improve Mood
- Reduce Symptoms of Depression
So, what’s your favorite song? What music makes you feel good? What music brings a smile to your face?
You can listen to different music depending on what kind of mood you are going for. I wanted to feel happy and confident today, so I played, “Worth It” by Amber Mark.
Happy listening!
May you have peace within,
Julia
